This eight-bedroom bungalow located in the outskirts of the city, is home to two brothers and their families. In the brothers’ brief to our studio, their request was to open up the spaces within the unit where the family could interact and spend time together but also have their individual private areas. The house caters to the client’s simple lifestyle. The interaction between the proportions of the horizontal living spaces and the vertical void created in the balcony are the resources that were used to generate individual areas of the house. Besides the spatial planning that brings nature indoors, balconies in the living area and bedrooms at different floor levels usher in soft light and breeze. The top floor with the recreational amenities is perceived as a creative space, spawning a fresh atmosphere. The result of the space distribution and a careful selection of materials is an elegant home with minimalist details that create a serene environment.
